Burglary near you

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred sometime between 5pm on 18/10/2025 and 8am on 19/10/2025 on  Grange Estate, Ilkley. The method of attack was by blow torch and then attempting to snap the cylinder lock.  

The unidentified suspect/s attacked the conservatory doors and attempted to burn through the UPVC door frame to access the lock. They were unable to gain entry and made off unseen. 

Crime occurrence 13250602970 refers.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between (times) to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
